Two knots and a plain front
A frog closure is made from the cloth itself. A fabric ball-knot sits on one side and a matching loop on the other. The Hanasu has two, set horizontally on the chest placket, and a rectangular topstitch outline frames them. There is nothing else on the front: no pockets, no print and no metal.
Because the front is this plain, the two knots are the only detail. The rest of the shirt is cut to stay out of their way.
A stand collar with a notch
The collar is short and stands upright. It opens into a V-notch at the center front, which gives the neckline some room without adding a lapel or a fold. The line from collar to hem stays clean.
Cloth made for summer
The fabric is a thin cotton blend with a vertical crinkle texture and a washed matte finish. It looks soft and slightly gauzy rather than crisp. In Light Grey the color is even across every panel, with no fading or ombre.
Loose through the body
The fit is relaxed and boxy. The shoulder is dropped, the sleeves are short, wide and end above the elbow, and the straight body falls to the hip. The hem is straight with a topstitched finish and small side slits. Nothing is gathered at the waist.
It comes in seven sizes, from S (US) M (JP) to 4XL (US) 5XL (JP), and in four colors: Light Grey, Dark Grey, Brown and Black.
